Hardly ever on Big Web

It's been a little over a month since I found out about Gemini. I am hardly ever browsing the http web.

Not even trying!

The odd thing: I wasn't even trying to stop browsing. It just happened. The posts on Gemini are enough for me -- there are a few deeply technical users, and enough varied non-tech posts to keep my interest.

In fact, when accidentally clicking on an http link I immediately click the back button in disgust.

Flounder

I am grateful for the easy onboarding via flounder.online. However I am feeling a bit stupid using an http web site to edit these little gemlog entries.

I am planning to switch to a tilde server shortly.

Banking

This really hurts. I generally use waterfox with Privacy Badger, Ghostery and uBlock Origin to pretend I have any privacy at all. However even with these on, I usually have a unique fingerprint

See if your browser has a unique fingerprint

But for banking I have to use Chromium without any privacy at all. Banking sites are the worst - full of weird javascript, trackers and ads. And you are pretty much stuck with it.

Transgressions

I did stop by this amazing site because of all the Gemini postings:

big web: idiomdrottning.org

Overall, I am extremely pleased.
